Removing malware from your computer

Antivirus software is the best thing to use when you want to perform malware removal from a slow computer. Your other options are to take the computer back to a time in history when you had no problems or removing the infected operating system and putting a new one in its place.
Malware removal is a lot simpler than erasing your operating system, and you can always take the other actions if you need to. Start with the basics and work your way up to the elite fighting machines.
The basics begin with your antivirus software that you have on the system already. The minute that you notice something about your computer that does not seem right run a full system scan. It does not matter if the automatic scan was run an hour prior to finding the computer acting strange; run the antivirus scan immediately.
If your system comes out clean after the scan then start to think of some of the other ways to remove spyware from your machine. Your machine may not have a virus in the eyes of your security program, but they may be because the virus is a new one that your security program is not enabled to detect.
You can get a new version of antivirus software or you can update the program that you have to the latest version. Remember that these programs only remove threats they recognize so the latest versions may recognize different threats that the original version did not.
You still have alternatives if your antivirus software does not recognize any threats. Trust your judgment about your system. If you think that your computer is acting up then there is something you need to fix. No software can replace your intuition on whether or not there is a problem.
Your control panel is found by clicking on start. Once you have the start screen up on the monitor you will need to click on the one that says control panel. You want to defragment the computer before you do anything else. You do this in this section. First it will ask you to run an analysis of the system to see if you need to defragment. This could take several minutes to complete.
Once you have done a defragment of the system you will need to close out any open pages and re-start the computer. Sometimes you have to leave the machine unplugged for thirty minutes or so to allow it time to re-set.
Antivirus software will help you to speed up your computer. You may also have to enter the control panel and make some corrections before the problem is solved.
